The Nordic Art Association supporting regional artist-in-residence networks

NKF seeks to promote the artistic infrastructure to explore opportunities how to collaborate, co-produce and strengthen each other and the art scene in general.

The Nordic Art Association (NKF) is an nonprofit organization dedicated to the visual arts in the Nordic countries, aiming to create networks both locally, nationally and internationally.

With the current cultural policy situation in Sweden and the severe funding cuts at hand that will deteriorate and affect the independent art scene, NKF is working towards creating networks with Artist Residencies active in the Stockholm region. NKF seeks to promote the artistic infrastructure to explore opportunities how to collaborate, co-produce and strengthen each other and the art scene in general.
Together with other Artist in Residences platforms, NKF aims to create long-term collaborations to show the value of artistic practice as part of a democratic society.

NKF was founded 1945 with branches in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden as well as the autonomies of Faroe Islands, Greenland, Åland and the Sámi People. NKF runs an international residency programme, and a programme of public events to promote exchange of ideas between artists, curators, researchers, and the public. NKF also runs temporary projects with the aim of promoting interdisciplinary collaborations and mobility with global reach.
