16/9/2024	Exhibition: Art for the Planet We’re excited to announce a partnership between VC Nest, located in downtown Palo Alto, California, and RevArt to offer an alternative exhibition space for artists. VC Nest, a high-end co-working and event space, attracts investors and high-net-worth individuals, making it an ideal venue for showcasing innovative art. The theme of this open call is Art for the Planet, focusing on sustainability—a key concern for many startups, corporations, and billionaires. The exhibition, scheduled for Spring 2025, invites artists to submit work that meets one of the following criteria: Your art’s subject is related to sustainability. Your art raises awareness about sustainability and the planet. You use sustainable practices in the creation of your art. Note: We will not consider acrylic paintings, as acrylic is not a sustainable material. We encourage artists from anywhere to apply. However, please note that artists are responsible for managing the logistics and costs of shipping their artwork to the venue. RevArt is a hub for visual artists to advance their careers. We operate alternative art spaces in Palo Alto, Toronto, Atlanta, DC, Charlottesville, and Nashville. Our mission is to make art accessible to all while creating more opportunities for emerging and underrepresented artists. 13/9/2024	Young Masters Open Call - 'For the love of art history' SUBMIT YOUR WORK TO THE YOUNG MASTERS OPEN CALL ON THE THEME OF ‘FOR THE LOVE OF ART HISTORY’ BY 31 OCTOBER 2024 Our new project is an Open Call for an exhibition of works on the theme of ‘for the love of art history’, selected and curated by Director and Founder of Young Masters, Cynthia Valianti Corbett. The theme is inspired by Corbett’s own love of art history; a lifelong passion for the old masters, and the art of the past. From masterpieces such as Fragonard’s flirtatious vignette ‘The Swing’, to Klimt’s ‘The Kiss’, or Watteau’s ‘The Scale of Love’ art history offers numerous examples of romantic love. The theme could also be extended to platonic, or religious love, passion, devotion. Above all, love is the most human of emotions, and art possibly the most human of ways to express it. 10/9/2024	Queer Women’s Artist Lab: New Orleans Kolaj Institute and Kasini House’s Art Meets History project are organizing a Queer Women’s Artist Lab: New Orleans, 18-22 November 2024. Early Deadline to Apply: Thursday, 26 September 2024 Final Deadline to Apply: Thursday, 10 October 2024 Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis until space is filled. Artists are encouraged to apply well before the deadline. During the lab, artists will make collage to explore artist practice, process, and meaning making. Artists will explore the queer geography and history of New Orleans and consider how similar geographies and histories from their home communities may inform their proposal. Artists will complete the Lab with a project proposal for a contemporary art project (an exhibition or a book) and a sample work that will be considered for an exhibition that will take place in 2025 or 2026. The goal of the Queer Women’s Artist Lab: New Orleans is to equip artists with tools and strategies for picking up the unfinished work of history and speak to contemporary civic discourse around social, economic, and environmental issues. Through interactive sessions in the Lab and panel discussions, artists will explore their process and practice; present a slideshow of their work; receive supportive, critical, curatorial feedback about their ideas; and discuss contemporary issues. During the lab, artists will make collage to explore artist practice, process, and meaning making. Artists will explore the queer geography and history of New Orleans and consider how similar geographies and histories from their home communities may inform their proposal. Artists will complete the Lab with a project proposal for a contemporary art project (an exhibition or a book) and a sample work that will be considered for an exhibition.
