Vovousa Festival Residency
The Vovousa Festival will be held every August for 10 days. The theme of the festival focuses on the mountain altitude, nature conservation through sustainable development and is dedicated to youth, photography, video art and cinematography.
Description of the residency programme:
Two European artists will be guests of the Vovousa Festival Residency in the village for a month. The only restriction will be that they must be lens-based artists and the material they produce must be related to their stay in the area.
A chance will be given to present: Individual work in any form each resident prefers (screening, exhibition, talk). During the festival, their work during the hosting period will be exhibited or screened.
The residency, a grey stone and comfortable house, features 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large and common rooms (featuring fireplace and views of the surrounding mountains), terraces and a large kitchen. Cooking and cleaning the house during the stay is collective.
The residency is held at a gray stone traditional house in Vovousa village. The surrounding mountains, villages and distant city, coupled with a vast expanse of sky, stars, and ever-changing mountain vistas, afford the residents amble space and opportunity for creative work.
