Modzi Arts
Modzi Arts is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation located in Lusaka, Zambia. Since opening in 2016, Modzi Arts has established itself as a multi-disciplinary art space offering diverse cultural programming and educational opportunities in the creative sector.
Modzi Arts aims to strengthen the Zambian art scene by providing a platform for creative people - amateur or professional - to develop their skills in the fields of visual and performing art, creative entrepreneurship and curatorial practice. Exhibitions, residencies and workshops encouraging women and youth towards active participation in the arts are hosted throughout the year.
The residency takes place in the vibrant city of Lusaka, Zambia and is an opportunity for contemporary, local and international artists to push the boundaries of cross regional artistic practices in the African context.
Modzi Arts provides curatorial support, collaborative opportunities and concept development to artists who are looking to expand their work and connect with others during the residency through their network.
Talk, educational program/workshop and exhibition or open studio
Artists will have the opportunity to work from multiple spaces within Modzi Arts, including an an indoor shared space and a large outdoor space.
- A 5 Bedroom house, with shared facilities (bathroom, living room, kitchen with cooking facilities, and outdoor space)
- Either a private or shared bedroom
- A laundry washing machine is available for use
Maximum 6 residents can be hosted at once. Groups, non-artist partners and children are welcome.
