Bydgoszcz City of Music UNESCO announces a call for submissions for the BPM DUO production residencies for artists working in the music field.

Bydgoszcz City of Music UNESCO announces a call for submissions for the BPM DUO
production residencies for artists working in the music field.
Their aim is to share experience and support international creative networks through a
programme that supports artists by providing time and space for collaborative work. The
three-week residency responds to the need to step outside the fast-paced rhythm of the
music industry and to create conditions for meaningful artistic exchange.

The call is open to two mid‑career musicians aged over 21, residing in the European Union (excluding Poland), who have not previously collaborated and wish to develop a new artistic initiative together. Applicants apply as a duo, submitting a joint project concept. The selected pair will be invited to a three-week residency in Bydgoszcz, which includes shared accommodation and a dedicated workspace for creative work.

The applicants can choose one of the below dates:
Residency 1: 04.05.2026 – 24.05.2026
Residency 2: 01.06.2026 – 21.06.2026

The residency is primarily intended for the development of the musical project proposed in
the application. Residents are also expected to engage with Bydgoszcz’s local music community by:
a) taking part in a meeting with the local music community and sharing their artistic practice,
b) presenting the outcomes of the residency in a public concert.

Each resident will receive an honorarium of 500 EURO for the duration of the residency.
Travel costs to and from Bydgoszcz will be covered by the organizer up to 300 EURO per
person (round trip). Accommodation and workspace will be provided by Bydgoszcz City of
Music. Depending on the nature of the submitted project, residents may also have the opportunity to work in a recording studio. The number of studio hours will be arranged following the selection process.

Applications in English should be submitted to [email protected]. The subject line should include: Residency application _ May / June _ Full Names. The call is open until 10 March 2026, 23:59 (CET).

The application should include:
1. A short bio or CV for each applicant
2. At least two selected works that best represent each applicant’s artistic practice, provided as audio or audio-visual recordings (links to YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, etc.)
3. A letter of intent including an initial project plan for the residency (maximum length: one A4 page)
4. A completed and signed application form
5. Two photographs of each applicant for promotional use, if selected
6. A signed GDPR data‑processing consent form
* Only complete applications will be considered.
* All decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
