Artistic Residency in Technological and Multimedia Arts in Lisbon (Portugal)

The Lisbon City Council, through the Municipal Directorate of Culture, promotes the 1st edition of the Artistic Residency in Technological and Multimedia Arts, with the aim of supporting and enhancing this specific area of contemporary artistic production. This program aims to privilege innovative artistic and authorial expressions that result from the creative use of computational tools and computer communication: digital arts, sound arts, video art, net art, interactive arts, and 3D images and that, cumulatively, are unequivocally articulated with the territory/local community - Bairro do Rego - thus constituting a reinforcement of the neighbourhood's identity and creation of synergies between the various agents Local.

The artistic residency aims to develop a project in the artistic area of Technological and Multimedia Arts that, cumulatively, unequivocally integrates identity elements of the territory/local community - Bairro do Rego - and provides for the public presentation of the resulting artistic work in Avenidas - Um Teatro em Cada Bairro, located in that neighbourhood.

Eligibility:

• Portuguese and foreign artists, aged between 18 and 35 years (at the date of publication of the call), who also
  • Have a tax address or be demonstrably living, studying and/or working in the municipality of Lisbon;
  • Demonstrate having proven training and/or experience in the artistic or professional area (through the curriculum vitae and/or portfolio);
  • Have developed multimedia practice and skills (mastery of audiovisual editing software and/or new media).

Practical details:

• Residence from 01-09-2023 to 31-12-2023.
• Workspace is a municipal workshop at Rua Augusto Abelaira, n.º 14 - Bairro do Rego.
• Artists may apply solo or collectively, and all elements must verify the previous conditions.
• Applications are submitted on this platform, along with all the necessary elements.

• The documentation must be written in Portuguese.
