Paid by artist:

200 EUR per week per person. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner water, laundry and electricity. Also included are personal accommodation, studio use, computer use, use of tools and machines, contact with the professional artists, exhibition entry for WHAT Art Gallery. Not included in the fee: materials used, special tools or machinery, personal expenses, health, liability and other insurances, travel costs, visa costs.

Description

WHAT handmade paper center was founded to provide artists residencies, training , employment and a source of susstainable income to a community of Tanzanians.

Accommodation Information

The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large garden with small restaurant on front with gallery space, outside bar and wood heated pizza oven. Back of the house are the work-areas, and the whole area is gated. Its a western style house with flush toilets and electricity (240v). There's limited hot water for showers. A computer with internet is available though service can be spotty, sauna is also available.

Technical Information

Fully equipped handmade paper workshop with hollander beater. Two big shades for any type of work.

Location

Situated 40 km from Kilimanjaro International airport, and 2 km from Moshi town center in Tanzania.
