The Vermont Studio Center is a vibrant, diverse community of artists situated in Vermont's northern Green Mountains. Each month they welcome 40 writers and visual artists from across the country and around the globe to their historic campus along the Gihon River in the town of Johnson, Vermont. Residencies range from 2 to 4 weeks and offer residents unrestricted time for creative work, along with daily opportunities to engage with fellow artists. The monthly program includes resident presentations, readings, artist talks, open studios, gallery openings, and optional studio visits and conferences with their Visiting Artists & Writers. Admission is competitive and based on a review of your portfolio or manuscript.
Vermont Studio Center offers full fellowships to 35% of residents and partial fellowships to all residents during their two annual open calls – February 15 to March 31 and August 15 to September 30. For a complete list of fellowships and eligibility, visit their website.
Every VSC residency includes: private room, private studio space, and all meals. The application is online, with $25 application fee.
