The fee structure at Uncool Artist is built upon carefully considering three fundamental financial factors: cover infrastructural costs, affordability, and fair compensation for the team and guests. A portion of your total tuition payment can be allocated to support scholarships. Case by case, payment installments can be discussed on the Program Fee. The Program and Security deposits can't be split.

Paid by artist:

2,600 USD per four-week cycle (1,100 Program Deposit + 1,500 Program Fee)
4,600 USD per eight-week cycle (1,100 Program Deposit + 3,500 Program Fee)
6,600 USD per twelve-week cycle (1,100 Program Deposit + 5,500 Program Fee)
8,300 USD per sixteen-week cycle (1,100 Program Deposit + 7,200 Program Fee)
9,700 USD per twenty-week cycle (1,100 Program Deposit + 8,600 Program Fee)

Application guidelines:

As part of the application process, they conduct a one-on-one online interview. After submitting your application form, you will receive a link to schedule a 20-minute conversation with one of their program managers.

Applicants can apply for one to five four-week cycles at the UA Residency Program 2024 (in-person in Brooklyn, NY). Other combinations with their online programs can make the experience more intense and/or more affordable (options detailed in the "Plans and Portfolio Submission" session).

The Uncool Artist community facilitates connections with experienced artists, curators, critics, and art dealers. It fosters an environment that enables individuals to deeply engage in their practices, discover opportunities to exhibit their creations, present projects, and establish a sustainable career in the arts. UA provides a range of tailored programs for artists, aiming to provide connections and opportunities within contemporary visual arts. The International Residency Program offered by Uncool Artist combines in-person studio-based residency experiences in Brooklyn, NY, along with curated shows, complemented by an online network of resources and connections that spans over 14 months. This program links the Americas (from South to North) with the global contemporary art scene. The UA Residency serves as an exceptional stepping stone in the careers of participating artists.

Studio Information

The shared studios are situated in the Brooklyn Navy Yard area, providing 24/7 access to the building, inclusive of internet and all utilities. They are equipped with tables, chairs, a mini fridge, kettle, microwave, and a library of basic tools and equipment.
