Application guidelines:

Beginners must attend classes and pre arranged sessions. The marble is free and there are sculptors for private tuition however most sculptors are advanced enough that they work independently.

Greek Marble Sculpting Residency
Description

White marble sculptors and stone carvers are invited to attend a Greek Island sculptor's residency from the traditional island of Thassos. The island is 25 minutes by ferry boat and has international flights into KVA and SKG with Ryan Air, German Wings, Air Berlin and Easy Jet. Accommodation is a private garden cottage or a separate apartment with a studio. There are local sculptors for tutoring or simply to mentor an artist.

 

Studio Information

one open air studio in the grounds of a stone cottage studio
the quarry factory offers studio space for compressor tools
and an outdoor studio in Limenaria offers power and compressor driven tools
The cottage and apartment have sculpting tables on the patio

Accommodation Information

Various accommodation in the village. Garden cottage with private spa baths, apartment for couple and one villa for family or shared accommodation up to 7 people. Breakfast and dinners can be provided (against payment).

Usually artist comes alone but partner could share accommodation. Also a home is available for a family.
