Radal Studio is an autonomous and self-managed space. They do not receive financial aid or subsidies of any kind. Our basic one-week residency program: For one person $250 USD (for 6 nights). For two people $360 USD (for 6 nights).
They have different rates for training and improvement programs depending on the technique chosen and the duration of the course. They also offer technical assistance for the creation program for $10 USD per hour. There could be an extra fee for cleaning and printing supplies in the creation program depending on the technique chosen and the amount of supplies provided. They provide artists with tools to carry out relief and intaglio techniques and basic supplies for these processes. Paper and plates are not included but can be purchased at cost.

Application guidelines:

Artists can apply using a form found on the studio's website. The eligibility criteria are based on the artist's experience with printmaking techniques and their expectations. The organisers want to make sure whether the artists can work independently in the studio or require support to organize a suitable work schedule.

Taller Radal is an artist-run space printmaking studio. It’s located in Villa los Coihues, at the gates of the Patagonian Andean forest, with easy access from San Carlos de Bariloche International Airport and a few minutes walk from Lago Gutiérrez. The studio has facilities for artists and printmakers to develop professional quality art projects based on non toxic printmaking techniques. The organisers are interested in develop printmaking and experimental printing media by the dissemination of techniques through teaching and the exchange of experiences with other artists.

Taller Radal offers short printmaking residency programs for artist from all over the world to carry out different creative, specialization or training projects in non toxic printmaking. They have three types of residency modalities: Self-Directed, Guided Specialization, Basic Training.

Outcome

The organisers encourage resident artists to carry out an exchange with the community through a talk, an exhibition of their production or a small workshop, but it is not mandatory.

Accommodation Information

The bedroom/study with bathroom is located on the upper floor of the studio and is accessed via a staircase. They have a double bed where two can sleep well. Kitchen, hot water, refrigerator and washing machine. Sheets and towels are provided, as well as basic kitchen items and appliances. Wifi available 24 hours a day. Free street parking is available. Outdoor space in the garden with rustic table and benches.

Studio Information

24-hour access to the printmaking studio located on the ground floor of the dormitory. The studio consists of an intaglio press with a 50 x 70 cm platen and equipment and materials to develop relief, intaglio and surface printmaking techniques.
