Description

Space A, a beacon of interdisciplinary art practice established in 2008 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Comprised of visual artists, interior designers, jewelry designers, musicians, and writers, Space A thrives on its unique diversity, birthing a plethora of magnificent ideas. Nestled in Babarmahal, Kathmandu, Space A is an autonomous, non-governmental, non-political, and not-for-profit artist initiative organization. Its mission? To provide a stable platform for critical analysis, reflection, open discussion, information exchange, collaboration, and interactive communication, thus enriching the landscape of contemporary art practices.

Space A’s Kathmandu International Artist-in-Residency (KIAR) program offers immersive residencies for artists across disciplines—visual arts, performance, music, writing, and more. Set in the vibrant cultural hub of Kathmandu, KIAR fosters collaboration, critical dialogue, and artistic experimentation, providing a space for reflection and research in an inspiring interdisciplinary environment.
