Sixi Museum is a non-profit art institution based on three founders’ art collections and artistic ideals. It integrates the functions of collection, exhibition, academic research and public education. Since its inauguration in 2023, Sixi, a fresh stream of blood in the art ecology of the Yangtze River Delta Region of China, has been offering unique artistic activities to the public with professionalism and inventiveness. It attaches great importance to collaborating with young artists from home and abroad. Through multicultural interactions, Sixi is exploring the sustainable development of contemporary art, committed to creating a friendly and intriguing new sphere for culture and arts.

Sixi is situated in Jiangsu Intelligent Manufacturing New City Park, Nanjing, China. Through versatile art programmes like exhibitions and artist residency, Sixi is looking forward to growing together with the public, wishing to make its contributions to the international cultural exchanges in Nanjing and the diversified development of the art ecology in contemporary China.

Lauched in 2024 to support young emerging artists, the Sixi International Artist-in-Residence Project is committed to facilitating exchanges between artists from different backgrounds and helping them achieve creative breakthroughs and personal growth in their creative work.

The Sixi AiR Project will provide living and working space, as well as financial support and other necessary assistance. A loft studio on the outskirts is available for the research and productive demands of artists of different disciplines. Apart from the necessary hardware facilities and staff assistance, they will also help the artists to establish contacts with the local art scene. By the end of the residency period, artists will also have the opportunity to showcase their outcomes in exhibitions.

Nanjing is a distinctive Chinese city that combines traditional and contemporary culture, where contemporary art is vibrant in the midst of its rich history. As one of the few local art residency programmes, the Sixi AiR Project hopes to provide artists with the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the city, and to make its contributions to the international cultural exchanges in Nanjing and the diversified development of the art ecology in contemporary China.
