- Film-writers or documentary related writing is no longer supported

Accommodation Information

The four buildings consist of a total of 20 writing rooms, each respectively named after words that describe a certain kind of aspiration that hopes to arise from the residency— in four steps of becoming enchanted. The buildings— respectively named 'Keulim' (Drawn into), 'Holim' (Possessed), 'Ulim' (Sounds Spreading), and 'Deulim' (Being Heard) — consist of 17 writing rooms reserved for domestic writers, while 3 are reserved for international writers.

Technical Information

Shared facilities include the following: a basement that combines gym and a lounge area, “cloud 9,” media lab (a private library space for meetings and classes), common kitchens that have basic computers and printers, seminar room, and a laundromat.

All are open to the resident writers, 24/7.

Location

Secretly Enclosed by the folding screen formed of trees, Our urban-pastoral residency offers tranquility to the traveling writers. While located in the busiest city of the country, it is also in the midst of locals. This creates an unusual synergy for the writers, resulting in a mixed milieu of tranquility and vibrancy. Commonly referred to as "Yeonhui Writers Residency" or “Yeonhui Literary Village,” it is grounded on the site of the former buildings of The City History Compilation Committee of Seoul. To the visitor, it presents an enchanting countryside. The 6,915m2 site includes four tiled roof houses— totaling a floor area of 1,480 m2— enclosed by the folding screen forest formed by pine trees and fruit trees.
