Scuola Internazionale di Grafica

Scuola Internazionale di Grafica

Venice Printmaking Residencies

Founded in 1969, the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice is a vibrant center for Printmaking and Book Arts in the historical heart of one of the most beautiful art capitals in the world. Each month Italian and international artists come together to work in the Scuola's studios. These 1 to 12 week Residencies in well equipped spaces are an opportunity to exchange inspirations, ideas, experiences and techniques, and explore and expand their individual creative work. A Residency at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica provides the opportunity to experience Venice as an independent working artist in the Studio's international creative community. Residents draw inspiration from both the historical masterpieces and the contemporary arts scene which Venice offers, from one's fellow artists and the knowledgeable staff at the studio, as well as from the simple joys of daily life in the magic that is Venice.

The Scuola is affiliated with international as well as Italian institutions. Among the international artists who have taught, lectured and worked at the Scuola are Henri Goetz, Stanley Hayter, John Ross, Michael Mazur, Jorg Schmeisser and Jon Gregg, founder of the Vermont Studio Center. The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica offers:

  • Independent Artist Residencies for professional and practicing artists
  • Academic Partial Fellowships for Art graduates and visual arts students

Resident artists may attend all the workshops in calendar at no additional fee.
