Rybon Art Center
Rybon Art Center is an international, nonpolitical, autonomous, artist-led initiative, based in Tehran. It was established in 2008 to promote innovation, experimentation of art among the local community of artists and to explore the possibilities of exchanging ideas and knowledge across ethnic, regional and artistic borders, in the context of contemporary critical art practice in Iran. Following the ethos of exchange and production of work, the residency provides opportunity for sustained and more in-depth research and dialogue between international artists and the local art scene. Rybon’s residencies include studio visits, talks and other public events that expose visiting artists to their peers and general public in Iran. These also provide new contacts, opportunity for further research for all involved.
