Description

The Residency KKot is an independent creative sanctuary and live-work retreat in Seonheul-ri, Jeju Island, tailored specifically for novelists, poets, essayists, and literary translators. Nestled within a peaceful 30-villa residential community surrounded by native Gotjawal forests and tangerine orchards, the residency offers a restorative environment built for deep focus, structured solitude, and rhythmic output. Grounded in the philosophy "Write, Walk, and Sleep Well," the daily rhythm harmonizes restorative mornings (forest walks, beach runs, and tea meditation) with strictly enforced Silent Hours (12:00–17:00) in the communal library lounge, which houses over 1,300 curated volumes and an all-day tea bar.
They operate on an ongoing, rolling admissions basis with a 4-week minimum stay, allowing creators to arrive at their preferred start dates without being bound by rigid seasonal cohorts. Accommodation consists of fully private, two-story wooden villas equipped with password doorlocks, a private kitchen, laundry, and a dedicated writing studio. To support creators without personal transport, local logistics—including scheduled market carpools, doorstep fresh delivery onboarding, scheduled recycling assistance, and on-site village management—are fully integrated into the stay, making long-term independent focus completely frictionless.
