REC.ON Spain is an Ecovillage and Coliving Residency located in the picturesque village of La Mata Bolaimi, with just 10 houses, nestled in the Sierra Maria-Los Vélez mountains of Andalusia. Founded in 2019 by Bart and Paulina Bielecki, it serves as a pioneering model for revitalizing the over 100-year-old buildings of a former goat farm.

REC.ON Spain is rooted in the values of art, ecology, and conscious community, offering a creative space for artists, writers, digital nomads, and travelers. Whether you’re healing from burnout, escaping the rat race, or pursuing a passion project, this ecovillage provides a space to create, reset, reconnect with nature, embrace simplicity and serenity.

AiR Program: Relationships as a Starting Point: they invite artists to explore connections, textures, and exchanges through their creative projects. The modern world imposes limitations on direct contact, prompting us to reflect on new forms of relationships—not only between people but also in connection with space, nature, and technology. REC.ON supports creativity rooted in sustainable development. They encourage artists to use recycled and upcycled materials, creating works that engage the local community and promote environmental awareness. They believe that art can be a response to ecological challenges and a tool for educating people on the responsible use of resources.

Located in the heart of the Andalusian countryside, they promote projects that explore local traditions, crafts, and the region’s history while adapting them to contemporary artistic contexts. The residency is a place of dialogue between the past and the future, where contemporary art meets cultural heritage.

The REC.ON Spain residency is open to artists and researchers working with themes of the body, space, and social relationships. They welcome projects from various disciplines—including visual arts, performance, dance, new media, writing, and interdisciplinary approaches. Projects based on sustainable practices, material recycling, and references to local culture are given priority in the selection process.

REC.ON Spain offers mentoring and assistance with project realization and promotion is available, as well as opportunities to collaborate with the local community and artisans. The residency lasts between 1 and 6 months, with a recommended minimum of 2 month for the full development of a project. Depending on the number of participants, a maximum of 4 individual or collective projects are carried out at a time.
