Poton is an art and residency centre and a professional theatre group that operates in a small village of Batovce, Slovakia. Poton Theatre is the only Slovak professional theatre based in the countryside. It acts as a renowned organisation within the contemporary culture scene in Slovakia. In addition to its own productions, organisation offers its creative and inspirational space to other artists.
The uniqueness of the space lies in its location - picturesque Slovak countryside, which offers many options for walking and wandering, beautiful sunsets and peaceful creative asylum for anyone.

Centre of Arts and Creativity offers more than 1,500 m² of work space for artists and complete sound, light and projection equipment. During the calendar year, centre provides work space and accomodation for approximately 20 residential groups - for more than 80 artists. When selecting residents, the residency center team focuses mainly on visual art, site-specific projects, new media and performing arts, including contemporary dance and physical theater, but also on music projects and literature. Both emerging and established artists are welcome. Since 2015, it has also provided working space for art theorists.

Centre has been providing residencies since 2008. More than 1,250 artists from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, England, Romania, Argentina, Palestine, Israel, Ukraine, France, Russia, Poland, Germany, Iran have worked on new works in Bátovce. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland and Mexico.
