Olmsted County’s Transforming Trash Artist-in-Residence program invites artists to create public artworks using at least 90% reclaimed materials from the County Recycling Center. Two artists will be selected for one-month residencies in 2026, each receiving a $2,500 stipend, lodging, studio space, tools, and supplemental materials. Artists will create and install or exhibit a public-facing project with an unveiling event or exhibition opening, and lead at least one community engagement activity. This residency promotes sustainability, creative reuse, and environmental education while tracking the impact of waste diversion. All mediums welcome and it is free to apply.
