Description

NEIRO Association for Expanding Arts produces and supports exceptional projects of Czech and international artists. Their aim is to present music and art in the international context and in collaboration with influential artists and theoreticians. Through this dialogue, they want to inspire and encourage creative solutions to the situations in which our culture and society currently stand. Their organization supports and develops collaborations primarily between the artists from the Czech Republic, Europe and Japan. They organize events in the Czech Republic, present international artists in the Czech Republic and Czech artists abroad. They bring a new view on image and music & sound through lectures, symposiums, presentations, concerts, exhibitions, performances and a festival.

The residency’s structure is open in order to cater to individuality and spontaneity. They provide a safe space where all art forms, intellectual and creative pursuits can be accepted and nurtured. Neiro hosts multidisciplinary residencies. They accept applicants from all creative fields and career stages.

The residency is located in a unique environment, which encourages artists to draw inspiration and take advantage of the surroundings it provides. Residents will be able to use the NEIRO residential and studio space to work on their projects. An important aspect of the residence will be an introduction of the resident to the Czech art scene in the form of meetings with local artists and their work. The production team will provide necessary support to organize a public performance, screening, exhibition, presentation, etc.

Outcome

The residency shall culminate in a public output according to the project of a particular artist (exhibition, performance, public screening, public space interventions, music, theater or dance productions, public reading, etc.). Members of the realization team will provide the residents with production assistance in the implementation of their projects, and help them establish contacts with Czech artists and relevant institutions.
