Eligibility criteria:

The organisers are in search of people with a flexible mindset, who are comfortable in an old building bordering a forest area. The building doesn't have all modern facilities.
People who are respectful for the natural surroundings.
It is a bit rural, although in 15 min cycling you will be in the city Nijmegen.
The residency is open to any form of artistic research.

Description

During your residency you are welcomed to work on a project you choose. They offer dynamic spaces that can be used for different purposes. The residency program is ongoing.

The residency is based on 27+ NAP in The Netherlands on a tiny hill, which is rare. The location is in an old horse carriage house bordering a protected nature area.
At this location the focus is on story telling around food culture and heritage, next to architecture and wood working. Also human-forest relationships. They have a glass torch blowing facility, a wood working studio with hand tools, a professional sewing machine and a garden which is organised on local wild plants and herbs.
You can ask the organisers for additional 1-on-1 coaching, or a hands on workshop on glass or wood working.

The village is known for the many sources of spring water and in the past it used to be a washing village, so you will see sculptures of women doing laundry in the creek.

Outcome

We can shape the residency based on your wishes.
You can have a research and process based residency or we can co-host a final event for presenting the outcome of your residency.

Two people at the same time since there are two sleeping facilities.

Studio Information

Your room can be used as your workspace. There is an outdoor table which you can set up to your own preference. There is a big space you can set up to your liking, with mats inside or take the mats out and use the wooden floor.

They welcome people who need support, although the building is very old and on a hill so for visual and hearing impairment it can be more challenging to find your way around the building. Also because the ceiling on the first floor has quite low beams.
Location specifics

The location is easy to reach from Nijmegen central station or from Kleve central station.
The residency is located in-between the Dutch and German border. They have all basic facilities in the village like supermarket, 3 restaurants, bakery, pharmacy etc. They are on cycling distance from Nijmegen and Kleve.
