Mas Palou is an organic wine estate where the organisers family has lived and cared for over 20 generations. They combine a very limited number of events (10-12 per year) with wine and olive oil production, as well as cultural activities like our artist residency and monthly wine & book club.

Mas Palou invites artists of all disciplines to apply for our 5th Art Residency, taking place February 26 – March 8, 2026, on our estate in the Penedès Wine Region, just 45 minutes from Barcelona.
They're looking for projects with subversive potential. Any discipline is welcome. Over the years, they've hosted photographers, writers, musicians, designers, filmmakers, chefs, sculptors, ceramists, textile artists, and more.
What they offer:
• A free 11-day residency for up to 7 artists or collectives
• Accommodation in our countryside guesthouses, Cal Joaquim and Cal Lluís, with shared bathrooms and living spaces
• As accommodation, each project is assigned one room (teams share a room if the project includes more than one person)
• A final public presentation on Sat March 7 to share or discuss your work EXPAND
• The residency takes place on our family estate, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills—a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with your work and with others
There is no cost for accommodation. Artists are responsible for:
• A €35 application fee (one fee per project, not per person)
• Travel, materials, and meals (fully equipped kitchens are available)
This is a self-directed residency with a strong emphasis on community. Artists will share living spaces and meals and are expected to contribute to a warm, collaborative atmosphere.
Rhythm & Daily Life
• Welcome dinner on the first evening
• Most days are unstructured to allow for focused creative work
• Communal dinners encouraged; grocery runs organized
• No mandatory workshops, but connection and exchange happen organically
• Artists are encouraged to cook, collaborate, and share space
• While there is no formal mentorship or curatorial support, we believe in the value of self-direction, organic exchange, and peer-to-peer inspiration
- There are a few market runs to get groceries
- To be confirmed one or two hangouts with local artist community
Logistics & Access
• Shared indoor and outdoor creative spaces available (no formal studios or tools provided)
• Villas are not wheelchair accessible
• Main working language: English
• Open to artists of all backgrounds and career stages, aged 18 and up
• International applicants are welcome, though we cannot sponsor visas
How to Apply
Applications will be submitted via a Google Form and require:
• A portfolio link
• A short artist bio
• A project proposal (new projects and works-in-progress are welcome)
• A €35 application fee (it Will be a payment link and we will need to know the email you used to make that payment).

It is not required to leave any of your art at Mas Palou but if you wish to, they will happily show it in their facilities for the guests and visitors to see, as some of the past residents have done in The organisers will photograph and share moments from the residency and final presentation on our channels to help amplify the work of our resident artists.
