La Métive
La Métive is a place of residence for multidisciplinary artistic creation located in Moutier-d'Ahun, in Creuse, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. All year round, it welcomes artists and people from all over the world in spaces conducive to the development of their ongoing research. La Métive is a project of social ties and cultural action in the rural territory where it is located.
Coming to La Métive means taking your time. Take the time to meet a place, a team, other artists, authors, and researchers, take the time to meet travelers, children, take the time to meet landscapes. It's also about taking time for yourself to do research. This is why they now prefer to welcome people over research carried out by 1 or 2 people.
To seek at the Métive is to engage in a process of experimentation, without obligation of result or demonstration and without the imperative of production. Intuitions are as important as projects. Uncertainty has its place in the Métive, there is not necessarily a failure in a search.
What the residency provides:
- Time: a search is above all a long process, with back-and-forth breaks. It is a process that develops over time. There is no pre-established duration, we will establish together the time and format of your visit.
- Support: Supporting artists means committing to their side, and reflecting with them. The entire Métive team is involved in this process. A playwright regularly intervenes at the beginning and end of each residency period for personalized support of the artistic work and a college of correspondents made up of professionals and artists from different disciplinary fields may be called upon according to needs.
The spaces of the Métive are made available to researchers: 110m2 unequipped platform, workshops of 25 to 30m2, a municipal library, garden.
Large house that has 8 bedrooms.
