La malterie
la malterie is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to support artistic research and creativity in the field of visual arts and contemporary music, by assisting and professionalising the artistic career path. La malterie is also a workplace for about thirty visual artists who benefit from private work studios.
Its residency programme is designed as a research and creation space where meetings with other artists facilitate professional exchanges and where the encounters of the artists and their physical and social environment are encouraged. La malterie supports its artists-in-residency in their professional development and help them to carry out their artistic projects.
La malterie also offers its artists-in-residency the opportunity to benefit from personalised meetings on the management of their activity and to meet established art professionals from the Euro-region.
The 2000 sqm of the building is composed of a concert club, an exhibition space, 5 rehearsal studios for musicians, 26 studios for visual artists, a production space for punctual residencies, and a resource center for artists.
On Le Plateau, a 300sqM space on the top of the building, la malterie runs a residency program for visual artists and performers engaged in artistic research or realisation of a project. Residencies duration is between 3 weeks and two months, considering the needs of the project and the artists.
For those residencies, they spread some call for projects (2 times a year), explaining eligibility, conditions and everything you need to apply if your project fits the call.
