Paid by artist:

Two nights 100€, per week 250 €, or per month 900 € to a max. of 6 weeks. Residents are responsible for their travel, work materials, food and personal expenses during the residency.

Description

Kunstwerk Kolderveen facilitates artistic production by offering a space and tools for artists to produce artworks at an affordable price and stay over for a period of max. 6 weeks. Artists and curators can stay from two nights to six weeks, either during the production of an artwork or for research.
Kunstwerk Kolderveen offers production space for artists dedicated to the making and realization of artistic projects. In the shared studio and equipment, guests can specify how to best set up the studio in order to work on their projects. They also aim to be a place for a professional exchange.

Outcome

Incoming artist residents (dependent on length of residency) can be asked to share thoughts on their production with local artists in events organized in the residency. From time to time Kunstwerk Kolderveen will open itself up as an exhibition space presenting work produced there in combination with invited artists.

Studio Information

Shared large studio of 100 sqm with daylight, 6 meters high.

Accommodation Information

The residency is comprised of a shared kitchen/living room, a private bedroom (2 single beds and a baby cot) and a WC / shower.

Technical Information

Artists can access equipment for wood working, metal working, silicon casting, VR, simulation and animation, digital drawing, 3D printing, photography, video, painting lab. Artists staying in the art residency can book working periods and facilities. In principle, the production space is not managed by any technicians. If guests require assistance or craft knowledge this is possible to be arranged.

Location

The residency is located in the countryside, in a Dutch village in the province of Drenthe. It is 10 minutes away by bus from the train station of Meppel (the closest city). The tourist destination of Giethorn is 7 km away, and Zwolle 20 minutes by train.
