The monthly fee includes provisions for breakfast/ snacks; vegetarian only lunches and dinners (cooked Monday through Saturday), fully furnished accommodation, electricity, water. Includes airport pick up and a city walk upon arrival.

4 two-room studios/apartments (about 40 sqm each, bedroom with AC+fan, the studio room with fan, a private bathroom/hot water) are available at a monthly rent of € 930/$1240/£800 each at single occupancy.

Kriti is looking for artists who are eager to interact with the local culture and life. Please share some information about your artistic work so far, an artist statement/resumee and let them know what you would like to work on during your stay in the residency. Description

The Artists in Residence program is an effort by the Kriti Gallery to provide a space for artists to interact with each other, Kriti Gallery and the city of Banaras. The residency has 5 apartments, each with its own studio, shared open air courtyard space and a common dinning space.

Kriti works actively with local educational institutions e.g. Banaras Hindu University and schools, e.g. for workshops, art talks and gallery/artist visit. Kriti collaborates with other artist projects in other Indian cities e.g. miniature painting workshops in Udaipur, photo shootings in Mumbai or Calcutta etc..

Accommodation Information

 The studio is a two room appartment with private bathroom, all meals are inclusive, vegetarian only.

Technical Information

There is the common dining space in the kitchen, the garden and it’s sitting spaces and a washing machine.

Location

The residency is located about 3km away from the river, 10 min by bicycle rickshaw, surrounded by a big garden for contemplation, reading, gatherings and work. Kriti is in a semi-modern residential area with shops, hospital and traffic around it.
