Description

Since 2021, the rural KHB Kunsthalle Below has had an urban branch at Leopoldplatz in Berlin-Wedding. Meetings, workshops, artist residencies, events, exhibitions, etc. take place in the beautiful little shop space with adjoining rooms of the KHBstudios. What's possible in 56 m². The host is AG Minimales Reisen. Hosting and welcoming guests are part of their programme. The focus of KHB's urban activities is the bookshelf and everything that its artist books require before and after publication.

KHBstudios Berlin invites artists to live and work in one of its two residential studios. The hosts of AG Minimales Reisen are interested in guest artists from various genres and guests from the cultural/scientific field. The residencies are self-organised and self-financed. You work independently on your project. And the organisers invite you to participate in collaborative offers from AG Minimales Reisen, if any take place. They call it “independent”.

Outcome

They are open to both results-oriented and non-results-oriented stays. If available, they welcome small contributions in copy for their KHB collection. And if you are interested in participating in collective writing workshops in public spaces for/with http://parallelprotokolle.de.

Accommodation Information

Each living studio has a table and chair, bed and armchair for this purpose. In addition to the two living studios, the KHBstudios have a small bathroom, a kitchenette and a shop window room that can be used as a workspace for groups, workshops, events, exhibitions, etc. The shop window room has beautiful open walls with pink traces of the past and a ceiling-high black chalkboard wall. Occasionally, events are held here to which guest artists are invited. KHBstudios is located in a wildly colourful neighbourhood in the lively urban district of Berlin-Wedding. The location is central in Berlin. There are various shops, restaurants and good transport connections.

Studio Information

The KHBstudios living studios are suitable for guests who primarily want to work at a desk during their stay. Each living studio has a table and chair, bed and armchair for this purpose.
