Description
The mission of the Artists Association of Nantucket is to foster the visual arts on Nantucket. They create a vibrant arts community by promoting, supporting and encouraging the work of Nantucket artists, providing educational programs in the arts, and preserving the legacy of Nantucket artists.
Outcome
This residency is designed for an artist whose work explores aesthetic beauty. The Hale MFA Fellowship provides space and time for artists to focus solely on their work. There is no expectation to teach, exhibit, or present work. Hale Fellowships take place only during the months of January, February, and March. There is no expectation for the resident to teach, but we do encourage exhibition and other community engagement.
Accommodation Information
They are located on Nantucket Island off the coast of Massachusetts. Residents have a studio apartment and access to a studio space, both in their Visual Arts Center.
Studio Information
A small studio space with easel, work table and desk, down the hall from the studio apartment which has a kitchen, bed, bathroom and sitting area. The apartment is not appropriate for children.
