
Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts
The Gibraltar Point residency program provides professional artists with a fully subsidized opportunity to live and work on Toronto Islands for one month. The program is open to artists who are engaged in the research or creation of work and is designed to provide participants with uninterrupted time to think, create and experiment in the diverse community at The Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts.
On site accommodation consists of bright, cozy, residency style private bedrooms, shared bathrooms and showers. Residents have access to a laundry room, common lounge and fully equipped kitchen.
The Artist Centre is a lakefront oasis just minutes from downtown Toronto. Toronto Islands is a 230 hectare city park in Toronto's harbour. The Islands offer a wide range of recreational pursuits. The Islands are also home to an airport and 746 individuals whose remarkable community boasts one of the highest per capita populations of artists in the country. The City of Toronto operates a year-round, fifteen-minute ferry service to Toronto Islands from its ferry terminal at the foot of Bay Street. Direct water taxi service is also available.
