The Frankfurt LAB is a production space for rehearsing and performing experimental works in the fields of the performing arts (dance, theatre, performance) and contemporary music. Artistic responsibility is shared by its partners the Ensemble Modern, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, the Hessische Theaterakademie, the Hochschule für Music and Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main and the Künstler:innenhaus Mousonturm.

KfW Stiftung is an independent, non-profit foundation established in October 2012 and located in Frankfurt, Germany. Its main areas of activity include the promotion of cultural diversity in the field of art and culture as well as engagement in the areas of responsible entrepreneurship, society and ecology. In the area of art and culture, KfW Stiftung creates platforms together with partner organizations for the international contemporary arts to strengthen creativity, freedom of expression and discursive capacity and thus promote cultural diversity.

The Frankfurt LAB in cooperation with the foundation KfW Stiftung are happy to invite four emerging artists from the performing arts sector (performance, dance, theatre, music), who were trained in Africa, Asia, Latin America or the MENA region to apply for a four-week stay in Frankfurt, a metropolis in the heart of Europe.

Frankfurt Moves! is an initiative by KfW Stiftung to promote artistic exchange and intercultural dialogue. The residency programme in cooperation with Frankfurt LAB - a production space for rehearsing and performing experimental works in the fields of the performing arts and contemporary music - promotes international emerging artists in the performing arts.

From 25. July to 25. August 2024 the artists in residence will be able to use the professional rehearsal spaces of the Frankfurt LAB to work on a new project or to conduct research. The benefits include a fee, costs for documentation, expenses for travel and accommodation (for up to two persons) as well as networking opportunities. At the end of the residency, it will be possible to present the results publicly.
