Description

The residency is located in a tiny village in Spain, three-hour drive south-west of Barcelona, surrounded by pine forest, olive and almond trees, called Belmonte de San José.
The objective of the residency is to bring art to their village, attract interesting people to Belmonte, and offer the artist a nice place to stay and work.

Granted artists can stay 2 to 4 weeks, alone or with other artists in the following periods of the year:

  • 8th of April 2024 – end of May 2024
  • 1st of October 2024 – end of November 2024
Outcome

Artists are asked for an initiative on-site that will certainly earn him/her a stay in this pop-up residence.
That could take different forms: To leave a trace of your art in the village/house, organize a workshop, promote the work by sharing your stay on social media, etc.

The residency offers an accommodation in an inspiring, peaceful, and beautiful environment with:

  • few blank walls inside and out
  • spacious studio to work in
  • garden with nice views to relax in (or to work in..)
  • kitchen is available.

The village has a bar/restaurant and a small shop.
