Paid by host:

For this residency, DYNAMO will provide an artistic fee of 950 EURO, as well as cover travel costs to and from Denmark and accommodation during your residency (up to 670 EUR per company). By agreement, they can also cover some of your needs for artistic or non-artistic resources, or the fee for an external person of your choice (choreographer, dramaturg, scenographer, etc.).

Application guidelines:

Artists and companies (up to 4 members) based in the Baltic and/or Nordic region are eligible to apply for a 4-weeks residency in spring 2023 at DYNAMO workspace

Description

Professional contemporary circus artists and companies, based in the Nordic-Baltic region (excluding Denmark) are welcome to apply. They encourage applications from artists/companies who plan to premiere their performance within a year after the residency.

The residency does not have a set thematic, and it is, therefore, open to artists working in any discipline and with any artistic thematic across the contemporary circus.

Through the residency programme, DYNAMO aims to support the circus environment to its fullest extent by also providing artists with the opportunity to do unrestricted creative work and contribute to the development of contemporary circus in the Nordic-Baltic region and Europe.

Outcome

A public work-in-progress showing is part of the residency agreement. The showing will also be included in the program for their audience. As a selected artist/company you provide materials for PR and promotion. In this residency, you will share documentation of your process and credit DYNAMO on digital media during your stay

Studio Information

As a group/artist in residency at DYNAMO you are provided with your own workspace of approximately, 60m2. You get access to basic circus rigging equipment, crash mats and such. (max height for rigging in the ceiling is 6 meters.) Basic lights and sound.

Location

DYNAMO is located in the city of Odense, the third largest city in Denmark. You can reach them easily if you travel from within Denmark but also if you visit from abroad. They are based in Odense Harbour, which means you can also reach them by boat.
