  • Costs of living and accommodation. The average cost of living for 1 person per month (if you cook yourself) are approx 400 euros

Description

The Deshima Artist In Residence project is an initiative to promote the cultural exchange between the Netherlands and Japan. This AIR is open for Japanese artists and other creative people with an open mind. Projects with special attention to the geographical, cultural, social or historical situation of Amsterdam (Netherlands) are preferred. It is expected of the participants to have a large degree of independence, curiosity and flexibility.

Outcome

Presentation, artist talk, exhibition, depending on the discipline and project of the artist.

Accommodation Information

No fixed accomodation. According to the artist and discipline they'll find an accomodation/studio.

Technical Information

Deshima AIR project consists of a team of professionals from different fields. Due to the extensive network that they maintain, they can effectively and quickly access various agencies and individuals in the cultural melting pot of Amsterdam (Netherlands). The team also has a strong relationship with Japanese culture and is thus known by travel and encounters.
