Description

De Proef in Frederiksoord, Netherlands, is a unique heritage regeneration project where history, ecology, creativity, and community come together. Become artist-in-residence, you'll be part of the historic 140-year-old UNESCO site, a thriving hub for ecology, sustainable innovation, craftsmanship, and cultural exchange. They welcome enthusiastic, hands-on artist / designers / researchers.

They are open for a great diversity of artists/ designers/ writers/ creatives, especially with ideas that are site-responsive and/ or engage with themes like: ecology, craft, inter generational exchange or rural connection.

Accommodation Information

They have a residence space for 6 people on their 8-hectare site (botanical garden to be) in Frederiksoord, The Netherlands. The accommodations are simple & comfortable designed for independent living with access to shared kitchen, bathroom and workspace facilities (wood, metal, 3D technology). Residents stay in private rooms and always have access to the gardens, workshops and indoor studio spaces.

Unique about the space is: UNESCO world heritage because of the first Dutch colonies in the area, 8 hectares of botanical garden to be, old horticulture school, rural.
