Description

Cobertizo Art Residency is a non-profit association aimed at international artists willing to develop their creative processes in a professional environment and build a community of exchange and reflection around their art practices. The program, designed to provide a space for immersion and exchange focused on art production, is four weeks long in which the residents will be provided with all services needed (specialized studios, hosting, transport and meals) in order to fully engage with their projects.
On the first weekend a trip to Mexico City is programmed for residents to approach diverse independent art spaces and galleries and get to know some of the initiatives that are shaping Mexico city’s art scene. In the second and fourth weeks, two professional artists will visit Cobertizo in order to guide critical mentorships with the residents and open a common dialogue along the residency.

Outcome

The last weekend of the residency an Open Studio will take place with guests from Jilotepec, former residents, professional artists, curators and other people involved in the art scene in Mexico, so the residents can share their work.
