Housed in a 17th Century construction in the heart of the world heritage site of Mompox (Colombia), El Boga is a tribute to the tradition and the crafts of the people of Mompox and the Magdalena Rivera. The aim is to develop meaningful cultural, academic, and artistic activities, that promote dialogue and add value to the local community and visitors alike.

The organisers host residencies and execute programs and encounters that respond to the region’s strengths in handcrafts, seeking to transfer knowledge and growth among participants, and to strengthen communities.

Since 2019, they have hosted more than 100 residents from diverse disciplines. They are open to all types of artists and projects. In addition to accommodation in our house, the residency includes the support of our host resident, who facilitates connections between residents and the local context, as well as access to and use of the house’s facilities. We have a large main hall where we host exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and talks.

The organisers recommend a duration of one month, but they are open to receiving candidates for periods as short as two weeks.
