Application guidelines:

-Pre-registration

Pre-registration period: from 17 July to 1 September

Requirements to pre-register:

Fill out the registration form in CA LA ROSA website
Describe the publishing project you wish to undertake on the form (with the following sections: introduction, development of the formal research, publishing process, brief description of the candidate’s background as an artist, images and visual documentation).
Place reservation payment (€150): amount that will be deducted from the total payment in full for the residency, which will be refunded if the desired place is not obtained.

Last day of registration: 1 September

Once the applicant’s participation is validated, the coordinating team will contact the person interested to formalise full payment for the residency and make the final reservation for the place.

Description

Ca La Rosa is a space where all phases of the creation process can be developed: conception, experimentation, elaboration and public presentation. The facilities and their infrastructure will place a certain emphasis on the artistic techniques of publishing and installation/digital technology, but the multipurpose qualities of the center and its program of activities are not limited. The interdisciplinarity of the arts is typical of our times. Located in the beautiful landscapes of Empordà, Girona, north Spain, it has amazing surroundings to develop art in an original context.

Stage in Edition, Graphic and Context

The First Training Programme for Publishing, Graphics and Context combines artistic practice in printing graphic works and mentorships with artists and professionals from the sector to support projects from their beginnings to the final screen printing.

Accommodation Information

The residencies are organised from Monday to Sunday with the possibility of arriving the previous Saturday: artists who can arrive the weekend before the first day of the training programme will have the opportunity to start establishing friendships with the rest of the group and the team or simply enjoy a leisurely welcome and get to know the surrounding area.

The First Training Programme for Publishing, Graphics and Context takes place entirely in the facilities of CA LA ROSA, Centre d’Art i Recerca, located in Carrer Girona, 31 in Verges, Baix Empordà (Girona). CA LA ROSA was once an inn that has been restored as an art centre and offers rooms to accommodate artists and their creative work in a spacious, relaxed and unique atmosphere in the heart of Empordà. The town of Verges, with its heavy mediaeval imprint and unique Empordanese streets, provides the setting for the residency.

Based on the last day of registration (1 September) and within a maximum period of one week, the two grant winners for the First Training Programme for Publishing, Graphics and Context will be announced publicly on the CA LA ROSA website.

Studio Information

The training program offers conceptual and process-related mentoring time with professional artists, technical advice on professional publishing and printing, individual and shared work spaces, technical resources, publishing materials, accommodation and maintenance.

The resources and services offered include:
Printing workshop space and infrastructure
Individual room for working and sleeping
Upon request, this can be a double room if the artist in residence is accompanied
Expendable materials: paper, ink, photoliths, etc.
Kitchen and dining room for residents
Living room, games and library
Full board or half board upon request
Bed linen and towels
