Description

Córtex Frontal is a multidisciplinary cultural project created in 2016 in Arraiolos, Évora, Alentejo, 110km far from Lisbon and 20km from Évora. They welcome professional artists, writers, researchers and workgroups in search of time and space to reflect, discuss and create. Their goal is to promote and develop cultural projects, establishing a lively dialogue between artists from various disciplines and the local community.
The call for applications is open year-round for residency proposals from March to December, for a minimum period of 3 weeks. Projects with relevance to the Portuguese context and the local community will be especially appreciated, in Visual Arts, Performative Arts, Literature and Music. Workgroups in residence (up to 15 people) for short, mid or long term are welcome.
The residency provides housing and studios and technical/artistic/critical support. Study trips to artistic/cultural/industrial heritage, open studios and local community events are part of their program and they will encourage resident artists to join.

Outcome

Open studio, workshop.
