Description

Each year the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig (HBK)/ Braunschweig University of Art announces the Braunschweig Projects scholarship to be awarded on behalf of the Federal State of Lower Saxony:

  • 2 scholarships in the field of Sound Art
  • 5 scholarships in the field of Fine Art

These scholarships are part of the programme of the State of Lower Saxony for the support of emerging artists at the HBK Braunschweig. This programme is aimed at young artists who are interested in working intensively on artistic projects in the close environment of an art academy. The integration of the scholarship holders into the teaching environment of the HBK Braunschweig is an essential element of the academy´s effort to promote emerging artists. The involvement of the artists in teaching activities does not, however, lead to the payment of fees or lecturer contracts.

Outcome

Upon completion of the scholarship term the student (eg artist) will have to present his/her artistic project in an exhibition or performance or any other equivalent way.

Accommodation Information

For the period of the student’s residence at the HBK Braunschweig a rent-free live-in studio will be available.
