Workspace, with free access between 08h and 23h, 7 days a week and possibility of access 24/7. This space includes the warehouse and the walls of the outdoor space at Nau Bòstik.
Free advice with the technical team of B-MURALS on issues related to artistic production (produc- tion planning, preparation and management of budgets, guidance on scholarships and resources, etc.).
Communication about of the project on the web, social networks and B-MURALS newsletter, as well as the organization of a public presentation in B-MURALS.

Paid by artist:

Work space: 180 euros per month + 21% VAT.
Special launch price until August 31, 2021, €150 + VAT.
Price include electricity, water, and wi-fi and basic furniture: table, chair and shelf.

Application guidelines:

The application has to be sent in pdf format to the email amanaia (at) bmurals.com with the subject “Micro-residences”. The document must contain:
• Personal data (full name, date and place of birth, ID number or passport, e-mail contact and telephone contact).
• Dates during which you want to do the residency (give two options).
• Artistic Statement (maximum 2500 characters, spaces included).
• Currículum Vitae.
• Explanation of the project (maximum 2500 characters, spaces included).
• Graphic Dossier (up to a maximum of 6 images).
• Personal web URL or other links of interest (maximum 2 links).
• Social media accounts relevant to the artist.

Description

B-Murals is an art center specializing in urban art based in Barcelona. A pioneering
and unique project for its comprehensive approach, which combines support for creation, through the promotion of mural interventions, art residencies and exhibitions; with the community and educational work outside its walls.

B-Murals has a vocation of connection and interaction with the territory as well as a universal spirit and an international dimension. The project was launched by Difusor, an entity that has been working for more than a decade in artistic promotion and intervention in the urban environment.

Open call Micro-residencies
B-Murals is offering a space to receive artist to develop their projects. With the aim of supporting artists who create dialogue with the public space, B-Murals opens a space with the capacity to receive 2 artists to carry out studio work. These Micro-Residencies are focused on short to medium term projects (between 2 and 6 months, extendable).

Grant for 1-month residency for international artists
A free one-month residency grant is offered for international artists or those residing outside the Barcelona metropolitan area. This residency is free of charge, thanks to the grant offered by Espronceda Institute of Arts and Culture. In this case, the artistic residency at B-Murals may also be limited to one month duration, if the artist so requests. Through this collaboration agreement with Espronceda Institute of Art and Culture, this call can offer accommodation in their facilities, located 10 minutes walk in the same environment of La Sagrera.

The winning artist of the Espronceda Grant will make a presentation of his project in Espronceda. Espronceda Institute of Arts and Culture will also produce a video about the stay and the project developed by the artist at B-Murals.

Outcome

B-Murlas would like to receive the artist to develop its project and to end it with an exhibition, of a fanzine, or an open studio, etc. They are open minded to different proposals.

Studio Information

The work space offered through this call consists of a studio of about 30m2, located in the warehouse next to the main space of B-MURALS, one of the warehouses that form the former industrial complex of Nau Bostik. The space has natural light, work tables, electricity, water sink, internet connection (wi-fi), W.C and shower.

The warehouse where the work spaces are located has two spaces of 30m2, for individual use, and a common space at the entrance.

Accommodation Information

The residence for artists is located in Espronceda Institute of Art and Culture, and has rooms and large common areas in a private cul-de-sac.

The artists housed in the residence have a spacious room for individual use, with natural light and air conditioning and share an open kitchen and dining room, living room and two bathrooms with a maximum of 4 resident artists, interna- tional profile and linked to projects of Espronceda Institute of Arts and Culture.

Location

Nau Bostik is located in La Sagrera, a neighbourhood with the aim to be the new cultural center in Barcelona.

The space is an industrial complex that has been reconverted into a self-managed cultural organization.
