  • One spacious bedroom, with a balcony viewing the Swayambhunath Stupa
  • One shared kitchen space including, gas, gas/induction stove, refrigerator, one microwave oven, and basic kitchen utensils
  • One shared bathroom with a shower (with hot water)
  • A shared workspace with one individual desk each to work on your projects
  • Access to good wireless internet, however, you must bring your own laptop
  • Electricity and water facilities.
  • A common washing machine for the whole building,
  • Airport pick-and-drop service,
  • Weekly housekeeping services, (Housekeeping services include dusting, changing sheets, and cleaning the restroom only.)
  • Black and white printing services (A4 size), photocopies,
  • Networking opportunities in the Nepali art scene,
  • Organizing exhibitions and presentations (in Artudio space) with invitations for these events,
  • Gallery, Studio, Museum, Library, and Site Visits (once a month as per artists’ needs)

If you feel that you need additional space to work on your project, they will also provide you with shared access to our studio space.

Description

Artudio, a contemporary art platform at the heart of Kathmandu, Nepal, regards artistic creation as an essential cornerstone of a vibrant, equitable, and flourishing society. Through its distinguished International Artists Residency Program (AIA Residency), Artudio invites artists from all disciplines—visual arts, music, literature, performance, and beyond—along with curators, writers, researchers, and interdisciplinary experts to immerse themselves in a culturally, naturally, and artistically enriched environment. This program champions cross-cultural collaboration, exchange and fosters an inspiring ecosystem where creative and intellectual pursuits thrive.

The AIA Residency accommodates two international artists simultaneously, offering flexible durations from 1 to 6 months tailored to the needs of each participant.

The organisers encourage artists to conduct a workshop to young artists or students at Artudio or our partner institutions.

They welcome visionary thinkers and contemporary artists from around the globe, spanning diverse disciplines including:

Visual Arts (painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking)
New Media Art (video art, sound art, digital installations)

(625 Square Feet) Dedicated workspace with individual desks along with additional shared studio space of (800 Square Feet) in the same building.

The iconic Swayambhu Mahachaitya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is just a 3-minute walk away, offering spiritual inspiration and tranquility. Artudio is just a 5-minute walk from the Kathmandu ring road, ensuring seamless access to the city’s major attractions and amenities. Tribhuvan International Airport is only 8.5 km away, simplifying international travel for artists.
