The University will cover only a part of the art materials for the artists-in-residence (like: charcoal, paper, canvas, acrylics, oil colours and paintbrushes). If necessary, the artists will buy other art materials from the local art supplies. The studios are for free.

Paid by artist:

The artists-in-residency must pay for: their round trip flight ticket, for accommodation, for a part of their art materials and for food.

U.N.A.G.E. IASI ART RESIDENCY is focused on an intercultural exchange with international artists only from painting area. The main aim of Art Alpha Residency is to create various and complex events in Iasi, a cultural town with a lots of inspiration sources, to meet the local artists and the students from George Enescu Fine Arts University, to exchange ideas and to share experiences with them as for a future possible collaboration.

The residency is organized by Ioana Palamar, Assistant Lecturer at George Enescu National University of Arts together with Lecturer Zamfira Birzu, Lecturer Cristian Ungureanu, Art critic Maria Bilasevschi and the support of volunteer students.

Outcome

At the end of their project, the artist will have to:

  • make a short presentation in front of the students and teachers from George Enescu Fine Arts university, the aim of this presentation being the exchange of ideas in the visual arts area as for enriching the artistic experiences
  • to leave to the university one of his/her works.
Studio Information

The artists-in-residence will work in the studios of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, together with the other students. They also have access to the library of the faculty, where they can use the computers and read the available art books. The faculty is located in Copou area, where transportation via bus and tram, small shops, coffee shops, supermarkets and restaurants are available.

Accommodation Information

The organizer will assist artists in finding accommodation in a flat. The accommodation room is private, but they might share the bathroom and the kitchen with the others.

Technical Information

The residency artists can make an online research by using the computers of the university and they also have access to the books of the library.
