ARS Keraamikakeskus
ARS Ceramics Centre was founded in 2019 by ceramic artists and designers in relation to the Estonian Ceramists' Association and operates inside the former ceramic factory production area at the ARS Art Factory.
ARS Ceramics Centre is dedicated to support emerging and established makers, to develop the contemporary ceramics medium and to disseminate knowledge and experience among professional artists and the general public. The centre endorses creative work, production, education and interdisciplinary research projects.
In collaboration with the Estonian Ceramists’ Association, ARS Ceramics Centre is running a self-directed residency program for ceramic artists and designers. The aim of this program is to offer individual professional artists a unique working experience at the historic ceramic production space and access to gas firing facilities.
Read more about the residency they offer on the website ARS Ceramics Residency.
Our aim is to support the visiting artist's open-ended creative processes, thus there is no specific requirement for a completed project or work. When possible, residents are encouraged to give an artist presentation.
Studio is intended to be used by independent professional ceramic artists or designers. Each visiting artist will receive an individual workspace within the communal studio.
Currently ARS Ceramics Centre is not providing accommodation.
Available tools and equipment: throwing wheels, slab roller, plaster wheel, pugmill, spray booth for glazing, gas kiln 150 L, electric kilns 20 L, 60 L, 250 L etc. The studio is located in close proximity to some services at the ARS Art Factory building (e.g. book binding and paper workshop, art supply store etc).
ARS Ceramics Centre is located at the former ARS Art Factory – a centre for creating and producing art in Estonia, hosting more than 100 artists, designers and creative companies. ARS is easily accessible by public transport, about 15 minutes from downtown. More information at the website of Artfactory ARS.
