Andalusian Guitar Residency by Uniterra
Andalusian Guitar Residency by Uniterra
Uniterra Guitar Residency is an intensive individual residency programme in Andalusia aimed at intermediate guitarists who want to develop their skills towards an advanced level and spend focused time working on their instrument in a supportive environment.
The programme is led by a professional guitarist and music educator with around 15 years of experience in music education and professional musical training. His background includes classical music, jazz, rumba and the fundamentals of flamenco, as well as extensive experience in musical arrangement.
Participants work on technique, repertoire, improvisation, musicality and developing a deeper connection with their instrument. A particular focus is placed on arrangement, including adapting existing music for guitar and developing original arrangements through creative work with harmony, rhythm, structure and interpretation.
The programme combines individual tuition, guided practice and independent work. Participants dedicate at least around 2 hours per day to individual guitar work, while the overall programme can include approximately 4–6 hours of focused musical activity, depending on their goals.
Participants have access to Uniterra Music Studio for practice, creative work and, if desired, recording a piece during the residency.
The residency also connects musical development with the natural environment of Málaga. The accommodation is around five minutes’ walk from the beach, with mountains and natural surroundings nearby, providing space for reflection and inspiration.
The initial programme is limited to 1–2 participants, allowing for a personal and focused experience.
The main outcome is the participant’s development from an intermediate towards a more advanced level of guitar playing, with greater technical confidence, musical awareness and independence.
Participants work towards individual goals in technique, repertoire, improvisation, musicality and arrangement, while developing a deeper connection with their instrument and more effective independent practice habits.
Depending on their interests, participants may also complete a personal musical project, such as an original arrangement or recording in the Uniterra Music Studio.
The residency also provides space for reflection, creative inspiration and exchange of knowledge, connected to the natural and cultural environment of Andalusia.

The surrounding area also provides opportunities to explore the local environment and culture. In specific cases, the apartment can accommodate up to three people, for example a couple sharing the bedroom and one additional participant using the sofa bed.
Participants have access to Uniterra Music Studio, a dedicated space for musical practice, creative work and recording. The studio includes several classical guitars, an electric guitar, bass guitar, piano and cajón, as well as professional studio monitors and a high-quality microphone suitable for recording both instruments and vocals.
The studio can be used for individual practice, developing arrangements, music production and recording a piece during the residency. Participants can also work with their own instrument and combine it with the equipment available in the studio.
The space has a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains, providing a calm and inspiring environment for focused musical work.
There is an airport 15 minutes by car - Malaga Airport and also a train station 15 minutes walking distance from the residence.
They warmly welcome guitarists who are looking for an intensive but relaxed and friendly learning experience. The residency is designed to be a space where you can focus on your music, learn a lot, exchange ideas and be inspired without the pressure of a formal course environment.
They believe that learning also happens outside the studio. The beautiful nature, mountains and Mediterranean surroundings of Andalusia offer plenty of opportunities to slow down, explore and find new inspiration. As such they hope to create an atmosphere where participants feel comfortable, curious and open to discovering new musical ideas and perspectives.
