Altofest prepares for the artist:

– A single production contribution of €1000 gross + up to 100 euros in expense reimbursement invoice, upon presentation of supporting evidence of expenses incurred for production.
The contribution will be paid no later than the end of December 2024, by bank transfer, upon presentation of an invoice (in no case will the contribution be paid in cash);

– Free accommodation in a domestic context, with kitchen use, in the homes of citizens who donate space or in the Hospital Network made up of other citizens, friends and supporters;

– The care of relationships between artists and citizens, donors of space and hospitality;

– The care of the possible connections between all the presences in the program and the programmers and international cultural operators who will host the fest.

– Promotional support for the work through all Altofest information channels (web and press dissemination);

– The promotion, during the current year, of the activities of the scheduled artists, through social networks with the hashtag #PEOPLEofALTOFEST;

– The artists programmed for Altofest Napoli are taken into consideration on a preferential basis for any future special editions of Altofest and for further programming and curation of Teatringestazione;

– Altofest takes care of linguistic accessibility, so all communication is bilingual (ITA-ENG).

Paid by artist:

The artists undertake to respect the following conditions:

– The Artist undertakes to guarantee the composition of the artistic cast and technical staff as presented in the application, corresponding to the full video; or to promptly communicate any substitution that may result in a substantial change to the characteristics of the proposed work.

– The Artist undertakes to leave the number of the artistic cast unchanged as presented in the application. Under no circumstances will numerical changes in the artistic cast be accepted.

– The duration of the work as presented on video will be considered minimum duration;

– The Artist must guarantee their presence, and that of their artistic cast and technical staff, for the entire duration of Altofest, arrival on 10 June and departure on 24 June 2024; no exceptions will be allowed;

– Ensure a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 performances, and make yourself available for any additional performances for the Altofest community;

– The Artist releases Altofest from the payment of social and insurance charges and assumes responsibility for any copyright on the work and parts of it;

– The Artist undertakes to use original material, free from copyright. That is, he undertakes to sign the SIAE release, which declares the use of unprotected music and that the work and its author are not registered with the SIAE. Otherwise he undertakes to pay all royalties in case of use of copyrighted materials;

– The Artist is responsible for his artistic cast and technical staff, undertaking to make them informed and aware of this regulation, taking charge of all social security, insurance and tax charges, any hiring or agreed fees, copyright, usability and/or or other charges arising from internal agreements with the company; freeing the Arte°Grado Association from any responsibility in this regard;

– Altofest does not guarantee travel expenses, but takes care of making agreements with numerous embassies and international cultural institutions, to encourage the artist's mobility. We therefore invite you to contact us to be updated on the list of Partner Countries. In any case, all artists will receive an official invitation letter, useful for accessing any funds intended for international mobility.

– The Artist undertakes to respect this regulation, which will be an integral part of the contract;

– The Artist undertakes to accept and sign the contract without requesting exceptions or variations.

Application guidelines:

All formally constituted professional artists are welcome. Nationality, language, age, and country of residence do not matter. Amateur teams are excluded.

Artistic proposals can be sent, after reading the regulations. You apply by filling out the online form that you can find at the same address.


By filling out the form, you declare that you have read and unconditionally accept the regulations attached to the announcement. The form is the only tool responsible for collecting proposals for Altofest 2024.

Description

Altofest was born in Naples in 2011, conceived and curated by Teatringestazione, directed by Gesualdi | Trono, in dialogue with Loretta Mesiti as dramaturg.

Altofest tends to progressively emancipate itself from the function of mere "production" and/or "programming" of shows and artistic works, usually attributed to festivals, to prefigure itself as a space of experimental sociality. Citizens and residents welcome artists and authors from different disciplines, invited to question their works created in a public and collective manner, through a translation operation for the domestic space.

They invite the artist not to be influenced by the thought of the work's easy adaptability, because the opportunity offered by Altofest is precisely that of experimenting and reworking the structure, essence and direction of the work in relation to the domestic place and the relationships that cross and define it.

One or more original and completed works may be proposed, conceived for formal spaces, and which have already made their public debut at the time of completing this announcement. Repertoire works, or archived ones that you intend to reactivate, are also admitted. The theme, content and duration are free. The proposed works must belong to the field of live art (theatre, dance, performance, experimental and interdisciplinary formats). Unfinished artistic projects or those still in the study or creation phase are excluded.

The artists' stay is required for the entire duration of Altofest, for a total of two weeks (arrival on the 10th - departure on the 24th of June).

Outcome

The artists are invited to carry out an artistic residency to rework the proposed work. The work will then be open to the public during the programming days following the residency.

Accommodation Information

Altofest guarantees accommodation with kitchen use, a production contribution, and additional technical and human resources, in the terms expressed in the regulation in the appendix to this announcement.

Location

Altofest is widespread in different neighborhoods of the city of Naples; It consists of a 10-day artistic residency period, followed by a program that lasts 5 days, and runs from 11:00 to 24:00.

The spaces in which Altofest takes place are of a domestic nature, of different sizes, outdoors or indoors, in any case and in various ways they are all inhabited spaces.

The Altofest program is made up of a selection of original works, conceived, created and intended for a formal space, completed and already presented to the public, with a free theme and content, which belong to the field of live art (theatre, dance, performance, and their interdisciplinary declinations).
