afo architekturforum oberösterreich
Since 2016 afo architekturforum oberösterreich is providing studio residencies for architects and artists relating to space, architecture and the city. In return They expect creative inputs for their program.
afo architekturforum oberösterreich (architecture forum upper austria) is a regional institution that aims to convey building culture. The association is situated in the city center of Linz, in the city’s former public soup kitchen designed by architect Curt Kühne. The premises are home to two exhibition spaces, workshops, a vaulted basement and offices. A 75 sqm studio flat equipped with a bed, kitchen, bath and toilet is located in the attic.
For the current call for proposals (2020), project ideas are sought that deal with specific architectural, planning and spatial conditions of the city of Linz. They have compiled a train of topics as food for thought:
- The future is now
- Dwelling, living
- Participation & Civic Engagement
- Appropriation
- Freedom and regulation
What they desire from the residents is fresh input in terms of content, creative and dedicated working and an expansion of our programme’s horizon. Possible outcomes are lectures, publications, exhibitions, happenings etc.
