Description

49 Nord 6 Est FRAC Lorraine takes a special interest in the various forms of contemporary writing and how they relate to visual arts.

This residency is an opportunity for international art critics and curators to become acquainted with artists and institutions in the Saarland-Lorraine-Luxembourg (SaarLorLux) border region, to develop critical perspectives related to the FRAC Lorraine collection or to experiment with new modes of writing.

Outcome

Participants will be expected to conduct a critical study of the FRAC Lorraine collection, with particular emphasis on the acquisition policy. This process will conclude with the writing of a text or article (to be defined).

Participants will also have the possibility to draft a potential scenario for an exhibition based on the FRAC Lorraine collection. Whenever possible, FRAC Lorraine will make available the assistance of personnel and provide office space and equipment.

Participants may be put in touch with various partner institutions and Art/Architecture post-secondary institutions in the SaarLorLux region. These meetings will provide an opportunity for participants to speak about the art scene in their country, as well as develop their own personal research.

Accommodation Information

A 30m2 studio flat in the FRAC Lorraine building will be provided for the duration of the residency.
