The Residency Project
The Residency Project (TRP) provides time and space in support of creative research, artistic experimentation, and arts-based community engagement with an emphasis on creating opportunities for practitioners who are traditionally underrepresented in the arts—women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists, artists with disabilities, and parents—as well as artists who give consideration to the environmental impact of their work and who actively pursue sustainable practices.
The residencies are not medium-specific and are perfect for creative practitioners from many different disciplinary backgrounds or with a cross-disciplinary practice. Visual artists, writers, curators, social practice artists, performance artists, sound artists, musicians, filmmakers, etc., regardless of their races, ethnicities, national origins/citizenship (international applicants are welcome), religious affiliations, gender identities, and sexual orientations are all welcome to apply.
The artists-in-residence are not pressured to end the residency with a finished "product." Rather, artists are encouraged to research, explore, experiment, and play with new concepts and modes of making or engaging.
Large communal studio with personal storage areas. The studio is a raw space that invites experimentation. Wi-fi connectivity and electrical outlets throughout.
Artists are encouraged to conceptualize the "studio" more broadly. TRP invites the residents to utilize alternative spaces as extensions of their studio or as sites for activation.
Private room with queen bed. Private or shared bathroom, depending on room assignment. Common areas for relaxing and dining.
