Paid by artist 

There is one single fee of 70 euro. It covers accommodation for one week (that’s the minimal stay) in large double room. There are four double rooms and two small apartments. The artists are allowed to use all house facilities. The residency organizers offer translation help, free guided tour of surroundings and forest and free pick up at arrival from Borsec bus station. In generall, single rooms are available at request.

Application guidelines 

Applications are open to worldwide artists in all fields of arts. Writers or artists need to send by email their bio/CV and 5 to 10 samples of their work (texts, images, videos etc.), either links to their websites or other online resources.  The email address for sending applications is [email protected].



InSideZone Residency

InSideZone Residency


INSIDEZONE is a short-term residency organized every year in the town of Borsec, Romania. It is open for artists and writers worldwide to come and work individually or as a group on a project related to the area or from their own inspiration. Borsec town, the Carpathian mountains and province of Transylvania have a long history and cultural background that still continues to inspire new generation of artists. The purpose of the short-term residency is to be a bridge between the past, the local tradition and the new culture and art of 21st century. Additionally, The International Poetry and Arts Festival Inside Zone takes place in May. If they wish, the participating artists of residency may also join the festival with their readings, performances, exhibitions etc. especially if their work is related to Borsec.

Accommodation Information 

Large rooms with balconies. Bathrooms have permanent hot water. You can cook in a full equipped kitchen. Wi-fi is available.


The residency is in a beautiful house from the central area of the upper town part. The town is located at the base of Carpathian Mountains. The surroundings are quiet and inspiring; the wooded and stone house has a large courtyard. You will meet worldwide and Romanian artists, discover the Transylvanian mountains and their green forests as close as a 5 minute walk.
